My Lord,
With reference to my Despatch No. 382 of
the 10th December, 1919, I have the honour to recommend that, with effect from the date of Mr. Carpmael's retirement, Mr. A. E. Wood and Mr. G. R. Sayer should be promoted to be officers in Class II and Class III respectively.
2.
I may refer Your Lordship to Mr. Severn's Despatch No. 318 of the 16th November, 1918, the racommenda- -ticns in which have remained in abeyance pending the settle- -ment of the question of the permanent appointment to the post of Captain Superintendent of Police.
3.
If the appointments and the proposals contained in my Despatch No. 385 of the 12th December, 1919, are approved the next senior officers will receive the full pay recommended in that Despatch from the date of these pro-
-motions.
